WordPress Theme & Plugin Detector
Enter any website address to see whether it runs WordPress, which theme it uses, and which plugins are visible in its page source. Every detected plugin comes with its WP Rank position, install count and a maintenance check.
How it works
- Enter the website address. We fetch its homepage and a few inner pages the way a browser would.
- We read the theme and plugin folders referenced in the pages, the plugins that register routes in the site's public REST API, and the comments and markup plugins leave behind.
- Detected plugins are matched against the WordPress.org directory so you can see how popular and well maintained each one is.
Frequently asked questions
- Why was a plugin or theme not detected?
- We can only see what the site exposes publicly. Plugins that work purely in the background, sites that hide or rename the wp-content folder, sites that disable the REST API and sites behind bot protection will show fewer results. The detected list is a minimum, not a complete inventory.
- What does 'Found via' mean?
- It shows where the evidence came from: page assets (a plugin's files are loaded), other pages, generated files (cache folders), page markup (comments and tags a plugin adds) or the REST API (the plugin registers its own routes). Several sources for one plugin means higher confidence.
- Why are some plugins marked as not in the directory?
- They are premium plugins, custom code, or bundled with the theme and distributed outside WordPress.org, so we have no ranking data for them.
- Is it safe to scan any site?
- We request one public page and a theme stylesheet, the same as a visitor would. We only follow public web addresses and never connect to private networks. Please only scan sites you are allowed to look at.
- Why was my request limited?
- Scanning is rate limited to a few sites every ten minutes to keep the tool available for everyone.
