Description

Maintenance, coming-soon and landing-page modes

LightStart provides three page modes for planned downtime, a site launch or a landing page on an existing site. Administrators with sufficient rights retain access to the site's front end while visitors see the maintenance page; a countdown or status information can explain what to expect.

Colors, text and backgrounds are customizable, and responsive design and landing-page templates help shape the visitor experience. This suits site owners who need a branded holding page, with a timer available when they can share a target date.

Visitor forms, URL exclusions and multisite controls

Visitor-collection tools and access settings give site owners ways to tailor the page and control what stays accessible.

  • Subscription and contact forms: collect email addresses, export subscription emails as a CSV file, or receive messages from visitors.
  • Email-collection bot and social icons: add the bot functionality or social media links to the page; SEO options are also included.
  • URL exclusions: keep selected URLs out of maintenance mode. If the login URL has a custom slug, add that slug to the exclusion list.
  • Multisite settings: each site in a network can have its own maintenance settings, useful when sites need separate schedules or messages.
  • Caching caution: cache plugins may cause instability in maintenance mode. The guidance recommends deactivating them while the mode is active, or clearing the entire cache after each change.

Recent maintenance and fully resolved support requests

LightStart's recent update and resolved support threads are positive signals, though the support sample is too small to establish a broader pattern.

Version 2.6.25 was updated within the last week. Both listed support threads are marked resolved, a 100% resolution rate for this small sample; treat that as a limited snapshot rather than a guarantee of future support. The recent update suggests ongoing maintenance, while sites relying on maintenance mode should pay particular attention to cache behavior after configuration changes.
