Theme-provided demo imports for content and settings
One Click Demo Import gives theme users a direct route to demo content and settings supplied by their theme. Find the import page under Appearance, then choose an available demo to import its content and any provided widget, Customizer, or Redux settings. This works when the theme author has configured imports, so check which demo options your theme provides.
Imported content is assigned to the user running the import rather than matched to existing site users. Review the resulting authorship if preserving existing user assignments matters to your site.
Theme authors can define and organize import packages
Theme authors can present one or more named import options through the ocdi/import_files filter.
- Package details: Add names and categories to organize the available demos.
- Content and settings: Provide file URLs for demo content, widgets, Customizer settings, and Redux options.
- Demo presentation: Include a preview image, a link to the demo, and an import notice for any extra setup users should expect.
- Theme integration: The plugin documentation invites theme authors to build this import workflow into their themes, making it useful for themes that need a guided setup path.
Import files and logs remain accessible in WordPress
Demo import files are stored in the default WordPress uploads directory, and the log is registered in the Media section. This gives site administrators a familiar place to locate the files and access the log after an import.
A widely adopted plugin with little recent support evidence
One Click Demo Import has broad adoption and a good rating, but its support record is too small to establish a wider pattern.
- Adoption and rating: It is among the most widely installed plugins in the directory, with a good rating based on a moderate number of reviews.
- Freshness: It was updated in April, so its release is not especially recent.
- Support signal: Its only recorded support thread is resolved, which is positive, but a single thread offers little evidence about ongoing support consistency.
- Practical fit: Theme users should check that their theme provides the demo they need; theme authors should expect to configure the import packages and source files themselves.
