Description

Per-page controls and custom templates for OceanWP

Ocean Extra gives OceanWP users a way to set different design options on individual pages and posts. Its metabox can override global Customizer settings for layouts, sidebars, headers, navigation, page titles and footer elements, which is useful when selected pages need a distinct structure.

Custom templates can be built with page builders or Gutenberg, then applied as headers or footers through the Customizer or displayed with shortcodes and hooks. This gives site owners flexible placement options without limiting them to one template-building method.

Customizer tools, typography and integrations

The plugin adds practical controls for managing OceanWP settings, fonts and connected services.

  • Google Fonts: Host fonts locally, including fonts applied through Elementor.
  • Adobe Fonts: Connect Adobe Fonts through the Customizer; this option also supports Elementor.
  • Customizer controls: Search settings, disable OceanWP panels, reset settings, and import or export styling. These tools can help streamline configuration and reuse designs across sites.
  • Integrations: Enable SVG uploads and connect services including Mailchimp, reCAPTCHA and Google Maps.

Menus, widgets, shortcodes and demo imports

Ocean Extra bundles navigation, widget and dynamic-content features that can reduce the need for separate utilities.

  • Menus: Add mega menus and icons to menu items, with several icon libraries supported.
  • Widgets: Add options such as contact details, recent posts, custom menus and social icons to sidebars or footers.
  • Shortcodes: Display dynamic items such as breadcrumbs, login links, the current user, the current year or a WooCommerce cart.
  • Demo imports: Import freemium full-site templates with sample content and styling. Some elements built with premium Ocean extensions may not appear or work without a premium license, but the demo itself can still be imported.

Free plugin features and premium Ocean extensions

Ocean Extra is free, with no separate premium version or feature limits on the plugin itself. Its free toolkit includes the per-page controls, templates, Customizer tools, widgets and other features described above.

Some additional features and demo content rely on Ocean premium extensions or a premium license. For planning purposes, distinguish what Ocean Extra provides from what may require a paid part of the wider Ocean ecosystem.

A theme-dependent toolkit with some premium-content caveats

Ocean Extra is most relevant to OceanWP users who want page-level design controls and bundled site-building tools; its theme dependency rules it out as a general-purpose option for other themes.

  • Scope: The range of free tools is broad, but check whether the demo elements you need depend on premium extensions before building around an imported template.
  • Signals: The plugin is widely installed, while its rating is mixed across a moderate number of reviews. It was updated within the past month. The support snapshot shows one thread with 0% resolved, too little activity to judge support quality on its own.

For OceanWP sites, it is a practical addition when its controls match your workflow; confirm premium-content needs and review support activity in context before relying on it for a time-sensitive project.
