Description

Responsive layouts and design controls in the block editor

Kadence Blocks gives editors responsive layout and styling controls for building pages with nested content.

Its Row Layout and Section blocks support nested structures, while settings can be adjusted for desktop, tablet, and mobile. Spacing, typography, colors, backgrounds, and block defaults are configurable, giving teams a way to apply consistent styling without repeating settings.

Role-based visibility can hide block settings from selected user roles. That may help keep design controls focused on editors who need them while giving content contributors a simpler workflow.

Blocks for forms, galleries, navigation, and page content

The block range covers common page-building needs, from lead capture to structured content display.

  • Advanced Form: Build and style contact or marketing forms in the editor.
  • Advanced Gallery: Create galleries, carousels, or sliders with controls for captions, links, and image sizes.
  • Posts: Display post grids, including on homepages.
  • Table of Contents: Generate heading links for navigating a post or page.
  • Tabs and Accordion: Organize content into tabbed panels or expandable sections; both can contain other blocks.
  • Testimonials: Present customer comments in a grid or carousel.
  • Advanced Button: Style individual buttons or rows of buttons, including hover states and icons.
  • Icon and Icon List: Add decorative icons or icon-based lists, with more than 1,500 SVG icons available.
  • Content display blocks: Use Show More for previews, Count Up for animated figures, and Progress Bar to visualize progress.

Design Library and page-level asset loading

The Design Library offers hundreds of pre-built patterns and pages, which can speed up page assembly when starting from a layout rather than a blank canvas.

Kadence Blocks says it loads CSS or JavaScript only for blocks used on a specific page. For sites using a range of blocks, page-level asset loading is intended to avoid loading assets for blocks that page does not use.

What Kadence Blocks Pro adds

The free plugin provides the core block toolkit, while Pro adds features including evergreen countdown campaigns and dynamic content.

  • Evergreen countdowns: Pro supports countdown campaigns that can be configured for individual visitors.
  • Dynamic content: Pro can draw on fields from ACF and MetaBox, as well as custom fields from WooCommerce, The Events Calendar, and other plugins. This suits sites that build pages around structured or frequently changing data.

A broad editor toolkit with support activity to weigh

Kadence Blocks combines a wide set of layout, design, and content tools with an excellent user rating and a moderate number of reviews.

  • Support activity: The plugin has 18 support threads, with 67% marked resolved. That points to some support follow-through, though not every thread is resolved.
  • Freshness: Its latest release was updated within the last week, a sign of an active release cadence.
  • Who it suits: The range is useful for teams that want to build varied page layouts in the block editor. Before adopting it, consider whether the free blocks cover your needs or whether Pro’s dynamic content and evergreen campaigns are important to your workflow.
